A teenager is dead after he was reportedly trying to take a selfie Wednesday inside Yosemite National Park.
18-year-old Tomer Frankfurter, who was visiting from Israel, lost his balance while trying to take a picture of himself while at the edge of Nevada Fall, according to the Fresno Bee. he fell 820 feet to his death.
The visit to Yosemite was part of a two-month trip for Frankfurter that he was taking before he joined th army, his mom told Israel’s Channel 10 News.
Nevada Fall is about a five to six hour hike from Yosemite Valley, which shares much of the same route as the hike to Half Dome.
