The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway has announced their annual tree lighting will take place on Sunday, December 2 beginning at 5:30 pm. The event will include live music from the Palm Springs High School Madrigals & String Quartet and the lighting of the 45-foot “tree” (it’s a big triangle of lights) by HGTV’s Desert Flippers, Eric and Lindsey Bennett – who will probably knock down a wall, add some grass, and create that “indoor outdoor lifestyle” that will net them $75,000 in profit, minus $15,000 in closing costs.
The Mountain Station’s “tree” is comprised of 4,000 LED lights sitting at well-over 8,000 feet – but bright enough to be seen from the floor of the Coachella Valley. The festive feel continues throughout December at the tram, with several special holiday happenings, including choir appearances and cameos by Santa Claus.
