A Coachella man was arrested late Sunday night in Thermal after a long stand-off with police.
Juan Moya, 50, surrendered to police at 11:45 p.m. and was arrested on charges of negligent discharge of a firearm, reports KESQ.
Police responded to a call of shots fired at 3 p.m. on Jackson Street in Thermal.
During the course of the afternoon and evening, police evacuated several adults and children out of the home while the man refused to cooperate, according to the Desert Sun.
There were no injuries reported.
Jackson Street was closed between Avenue 50 and Avenue 52 during the stand-off and a small crowd gathered to watch what was going on – well, when they weren’t hunting for pocket monsters…
