Three people were injured after a driver accidentally hit the accelerator and drove their Tesla through the front window of a Cathedral City restaurant.

The crash happened about noon at the restaurant in the 39500 block of Date Palm Drive, according to KESQ.

Two people dining at the restaurant were hospitalized with undisclosed injuries. The driver of the Tesla had minor injuries and was treated at the scene.

The driver was trying to park and accidentally hit the accelerator, reports KMIR. Alcohol does not appear to be a factor.
