Traffic should be worse than ever this Memorial Day Weekend

A three-day weekend is almost here! And that’s great news if you like relaxing by the pool, grilling, or buying a mattress (I guess, I mean those commercials just won’t stop airing). But, if you are planning to hit the roads for Memorial Day Weekend, you may want to pack a snack or an entire meal or food for the entire day as the roads are going to be packed af.

According to AAA, more than 5 million Californians are expected to take road trips of over 50 miles this weekend and most of them, 3.21 million, are from Southern California.

The busiest time for travel will be 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm on Friday, so, unless you like sitting on a freeway that resembles a parking lot, try not to travel then.  AAA anticipates 5 percent more traffic than last year in California, despite those high gas prices (pro tip: you can find the cheapest price on gas in the Coachella Valley here).

If you do have to travel, good luck.  If you don’t, maybe plan on just kicking it at home this weekend instead.  It’s not a bad weekend to be in the desert as there is actually a ton of stuff going on – plus Evil Genius is a good bingeworthy watch on Netflix and the weather will actually be nice enough to go outside for probably the last time until October.
