One man is dead after his pickup truck drove off Highway 74 and down a cliff on Friday night.

The crash happened around 6 p.m. just north of Bighorn Drive in Pinyon Pines, reports KMIR.

Witnesses say they saw the man speeding before the crash – in which the truck flipped over the side of the cliff and tumbled down approximately 100 feet.

Emergency teams administered C.P.R. but the and died at the scene.

Update: KMIR reports that police have identified man as 48 year-old Eutiquio Ramirez from Indio.
