Riverside County may be opening more businesses up these days, but Mother Nature is doing all she can to try to make you stay in with the air conditioning cranked.
Tuesday saw a high temp of 111 degrees, which was the hottest temperature recorded so far this year:
The hottest day of the year… so far.
Prior to today's high of 111°, the hottest Palm Springs has been in 2020 was 110° recorded on May 7th. https://t.co/uQzDxWDr9r pic.twitter.com/AGVkcD2dE3— Haley Clawson KESQ (@KESQHaley) May 27, 2020
And while that’s pretty hot, Wednesday looks like it will be even hotter:
Today should be the hottest day this week. Thursday won't be much cooler, but the weekend will be. Be careful and heat aware if you're outdoors in the valleys and deserts. pic.twitter.com/xfjlmGilaK

Palm Springs and Thermal are looking at a forecasted high of 112 degrees, which is very hot, so you can go ahead and cancel that hike you had planned for 2 pm.
Thursday will “cool” a few degrees and things will go back down to the low 100s by the weekend, before dipping under triple digits next week.
