Police removed seven children from a home that they say was cockroach-infested, contained very little food, and had water and feces all over the floor in Twentynine Palms on Saturday.

Deputies pulled over Brandon Brown, 31, and Arsenio Jones, 26, both of Twentynine Palms, on Saturday night.  Jones, was on probation and was driving on a suspended licence.  Brown, the passenger in the vehicle, had an active warrant for his arrest.

Deputies proceeded to Jones’ home on Foothill Drive to conduct a probation search, where they found Danielle Reid, 31, and her seven kids living squalor, according to the Press Enterprise:

The conditions at the house were uninhabitable, sheriff’s officials said. There was little food, and water covered the floors from blocked plumbing, the release said. What appeared to be animal feces was on the bedroom floor where everyone slept. Trash was strewn all over, large rats ran around the garage and cockroaches infested several parts of the house.

All seven children were taken into custody by The Department of Children and Family Services.  It was not clear what relationship Jones has to Reid or any of the children.

Reid and Jones were arrested on suspicion of felony child neglect.
