Two men were arrested by US Border Patrol agents in Temecula after more than $600,000 worth of methamphetamine, cocaine and heroin was found stashed inside their SUV.
Agents pulled over the suspicious vehicle on Interstate 15 about 9 pm near the freeway checkpoint, according to Fox 5. After being alerted by a K-9, agents searched the vehicle and found 114 bundles of drugs inside the rear cargo area – including 114 pounds of methamphetamine, 27 pounds of cocaine, and nearly 11 pounds of black tar heroin.
The street value of the drugs was about $620,000, according to the LA Times.
The two occupants of the SUV, both Mexican nationals, were turned over to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department and face narcotic smuggling charges.
