Police investigating the murders of two women in Twentynine Palms are asking the public for help in the investigation.

Christy McKissic, 32, and Renee Metcalf, 62, both of Twentynine Palms, were found dead inside a home on Bedouin Avenue early Friday morning, reports the Press Enterprise. There was also a 10-year-old child inside the house who was unharmed.

According to a news release, “investigators have collected a large volume of evidence and interviewed numerous people,” which includes Terrance Kennard Hodges, 42, of Wonder Valley. Hodges was taken into custody after leading authorities on a high-speed chase in a stolen vehicle beginning about 2:30 a.m. Friday.

He was arrested for evading a police officer, robberym and violating parole. It is not clear why police interviewed him in connection with the deaths.

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department said there are rumors that an arrest has been made in connection with the murders, but “the information is NOT correct.”
