A man police say was carrying a baseball bat and threatening people outside of a West Covina police station was tackled by an officer outside the building on Monday.

The suspect, who police identified as Christopher Rivas, 28, arrived at the police station at 10:18 am carrying a baseball and began striking the windows, according to a release from police.
Rivas then began entering the building, repeatedly striking the doors. An officer who was outside and saw what was happening ran up to Rivas and tackled him to the ground.
Rivas was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon and resisting arrest.
