A beef between two men on State Route 78 near Oceanside escalated quickly.

Cellphone footage posted to Facebook shows a man getting out of a BMW and confronting the driver of an SUV behind him. The BMW driver gets the SUV to roll down their window at which point he spits on the driver of the SUV.

The man then walks back to his car while the SUV takes off, sideswipes the BMW and rolls onto its side.

The CHP identified the driver of the BMW as Kevin McCall of Vista. McCall, who fled the scene, was later cited on suspicion of misdemeanor assault.

The SUV driver was identified as 23-year-old Andrew Branch of Escondido. He was arrested on suspicion of felony assault with a deadly weapon.
