Walmart Shopper Buys Playstation 4, Gets Box of Rocks Instead

A Denver man, thinking he had just purchased a PlayStation 4, was surprised to find he actually had purchased a box full of of rocks.

Igor Baksht bought a PlayStation 4 bundle at a Denver area Walmart last Friday. A store employee had, according to Baksht, told him the PlayStation was previously returned.

Baksht opened the box before wrapping it up as a present for his 13-year-old niece and that is when he found his awful surprise. ABC 7 reports:

“Just to make sure everything was inside, that all the contents were inside, all the games were inside,” said Baksht. “When I opened it, I said, ‘Oh my God.’

He found two bags of rocks wrapped up like the cop drama version of rectangular kilos of drugs.

“I couldn’t go back because they already were closed,” said Baksht.

He then went to a 24-hour Walmart, but was told that he would have to go back to the store where he made the purchase (awesome customer service!).

Saturday he went to the Walmart early in the morning and that is when things got even worse:

“He said they cannot do anything about it because they don’t have proof, how it came in, nothing,” said Baksht.

Eventually, on Christmas Eve night, the store manager reached out to Baksht and returned the game console and gave him his money back.

A  spokesman for Walmart told ABC 7 that they could not confirm his story, but gave him the benefit of the doubt.
