It has been a crazy couple of weeks for Coachella Valley Facebook feeds – what with J. Lo moving to Coachella and both Star Wars and Step Brothers 2 filming here. Of course, none of those stories are not true – and neither is the latest thing your aunt and coworker shared on Facebook this past weekend: that Ben Affleck is infatuated with Palm Desert women.
The “story” is from one of those “fantasy” (a.k.a. bullshit) website and claims that Affleck had a radio interview over the weekend (no radio station is named because, you know, it is made-up) and during the discussion, Ben proclaimed his love for the women of Palm Desert:
“I knew a girl from Palm Desert, California and I visited her and her family there years ago and I thought at the time that maybe she was just an exception but she wasn’t. And I’m not saying that the women there are necessarily more physically beautiful than other women in other places but, from my experience in Palm Desert, the women there have the entire package, ya know? They’re not only beautiful on the outside but on the inside as well. The girl I knew from Palm Desert was sweet, caring, and beautiful all-around and I found that to be the case for a lot of women there.”
And while it is true that women living in Palm Desert are the best (full disclosure: my beautiful and amazing wife currently resides in Palm Desert), it is probably not likely that Ben is currently hanging out at the new Blaze Pizza hoping to meet his next wife.
