Fresh Market has pulled out of its Palm Desert location…before the place has even been finished being built!

The former home of OfficeMax, located behind the Coffee Bean on El Paseo, was set to open as a “Fresh Market” grocery store this fall (because, if there is one thing that stretch of Palm Desert needs – it is more grocery stores!) – but, that is not going to happen anymore.

“Fresh Market” announced this week it is closing all of its California stores (even the ones that have not opened yet) to focus on East Coast locations.

The landlord is now looking for a new tenant.

I say make it a Fry’s or IKEA. What would you want to see move in there?
