The drought, as we all know, is pretty damn bad. As California communities continue to ask their residents to conserve, some are getting more creative than others.
Take for instance West Hollywood – who offers up this TV commercial that parodies Game of Thrones.
From the YouTube description:
Winter is Coming! But the Drought is Far From Over is a Special Announcement from the City of West Hollywood about the severity of California’s epic drought. Despite predictions of El Niño conditions and wet winter weather, the state is still facing one of the most severe droughts on record and it is vital that communities conserve water. The City of West Hollywood has steadily intensified its efforts to use less water and promote conservation. The City of West Hollywood launched this water conservation campaign aimed at encouraging residents and businesses to make adjustments in their daily routines in order to conserve water.
The city is asking residents to take a pledge to shrink their water footprint in order to restore water to endangered rivers and change the course.
Now sure, the acting and graphics are a little cheezy – but, you have to give it to WeHo for getting a little creative during the drought. Now maybe they can come up with something clever to reach those entitled Rancho Mirage water-wasters.
