Actress Amy Poehler is one of the funniest people on the planet. Unfortunately, she is also one of the worst water wasters in Beverly Hills. Considering California is in a big ol’ drought, that’s a bit of a no-no. Now the city, which has tried everything else, is taking to a new tactic to try to get her and other water wasters to stop: public shaming.
According to the Los Angeles Times, Poehler – who is reportedly single and has two children – used 170,000 gallons of water between May and July last summer. If you average that up, it is about 2,786 gallons of water a day – which is just a bit more than the approximately 400 gallons of water used by the average family in America, according to the EPA.
Reps for Poehler did not comment about what the hell she is doing with all of that water (Gawker has some pretty good guesses including filling up the pool every day with fresh water, “off-chance today is the day Tina Fey was referring to when she said she’d come by ‘one of these days.'”)
And while it is tough to dislike someone as likable as Poehler for using up so much water – it might be easier in a few years when we are all drinking sand.
