A day after President Trump tweeted that transgender Americans would not be allowed to serve their country in the military, a protest has been announced for Thursday night in Palm Springs.
The event will be held at 7pm at the corner of Arenas Road and Indian Canyon Drive, notes the Desert Sun.
On Wednesday, President Trump, a man who did not serve in the military after getting five deferments including one for mysterious heel spurs, tweeted that transgender people will not be allowed “to serve in any capacity in the U.S. Military” due to “tremendous medical costs.”
As many on Twitter noted, these costs are not “tremendous” and are actually far less than the military spends on Viagra and, in total, is less that the cost for three trips for the President to visit his own golf courses.
Hey Trump, Viagra costs military way more than trans serviceshttps://t.co/iTzoeRdx2I

Cancel 3 @realDonaldTrump boondoggle golf trips to Mar-a-Lago & the entire transgender cost is paid with $1.5M of taxpayer money left over. https://t.co/nqBuTcosPV

“This will be a peaceful protest to send a powerful message that we will not tolerate discrimination or hate in the LGBTQ community and abroad.” organizers said on Facebook. “Please bring signs and candles.”
