Woman arrested for stealing jewelry from La Quinta homes

An Indio woman was arrested after police say she stole jewelry from multiple homes in La Quinta.

After investigating a theft on Desert Rose Drive, police were alerted to additional victims in the area. During the investigation, some of the stolen jewelry was located at local pawn shops, according to a news release.

A search warrant was served at a home in Indio and Maricela Alvarez-Limon, 42 of Indio, was arrested for grand theft. During the search warrant, Ruben Mercado Alvarez, 22-years-old of Indio, was also arrested for possession of methamphetamine.
