A pedestrian was struck and killed in Desert Hot Springs on Friday night.

The fatal collision happened a little before 8:30 pm, according to DHS Police Chief Dale Mondary.

Palm Drive at Buena Vista was closed for several hours while police investigated. The vitim was a woman, according to the Desert Sun.  Her name of the woman was not released.

The driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene, according to Mondary.
