A woman and her dog were hit by a vehicle in Indio Saturday morning. Both died as a result of the crash.
The accident happened near Fred Waring Drive and Heritage Palms Drive around 7 a.m., reports KMIR.
A pickup truck headed eastbound struck the woman and dog at the intersection, according to police – who say that alcohol or drugs do not appear to be a factor.
The driver of the pickup truck is cooperating with authorities.
