Woman hits $8 million dollar jackpot, casino only gives her $80

slot malfunction

An Oregon woman thought her life would be changed forever when she hit an 8 million dollar jackpot on a slot machine. But all she has to show for it is 80 bucks.

Veronica Castillo took her mom to the Lucky Eagle Casino in Rochester, Washington last weekend and while put a hundred bucks into a slot machine and hit the jackpot. But, rather than a celebration, the casino claimed it was just a malfunction.

“They shut off the machine, took it away, printed out a ticket and gave me $80,” Castillo told KOIN 6.

The casino’s slot machines, like most slot machines, have a sticker on them that says a malfunction of the machine voids all pays and plays.

The casino’s CEO, John Setterstrom, said this has never happened before in his 20 years at the property. He told KOIN 6 that he is working to get answers from the manufacturer and wants to keep Castillo as a customer.

Yeah, good luck with that.
