A woman is dead after a single-vehicle crash in Cathedral City that happened a little after midnight Monday morning.

The crash happened at about 12:07 am on Dinah Shore, east of Cathedral Canyon, according to the Cathedral City Police Department.

Officers arrived to find that vehicle had collided into a cement structure on the center median. The female driver of the car, identified by KMIR as 47-year-old Annette Sepulveda of Hemet, was pronounced dead at the scene by emergency personnel.

A male passenger suffered major injuries and was transported to the hospital where he is listed in critical condition.

A preliminary investigation showed the vehicle traveling east on Dinah Shore at a high rate of speed and colliding with the center divider. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs were a factor in this collision.
