A woman is dead after she was hit by a car in La Quinta on Thursday.
A Cadillac sedan made a westbound turn onto Avenue 47 from Adams and collided with a pedestrian about 12:45 pm, according to a news release. The woman sustained major injuries and was taken to a local area hospital where she died from her injuries.
Police say that alcohol or drugs do not to appear to have been a factor in the collision.
