A woman was hospitalized with critical injuries following a five-vehicle collision on Gene Autry Trail in Palm Springs on Monday morning.
The collision happened about 7:45 am just south of the 10 Freeway, according to the Desert Sun.
The woman was thrown from her vehicle in the crash, which involved two cars, an SUV, a van, and a landscaping truck.
Two others were hospitalized with minor injuries.
Officials expected Gene Autry to be closed between I-10 and Vista Chino for several hours.
