An Indio woman and and a truck driver, who ended up overturning his rig, are lucky to be alive after she drove in the wrong direction of Interstate 10 on Sunday night. She was later arrested on suspicion of DUI.

Jessica Segura, 21, was driving her 1996 Nissan Sentra east in the westbound lanes of I-10 near Palm Drive. At 11:45pm, the driver of a Freightliner saw Segura approaching and veered his rig to avoid her. The vehicles hit in a “side-swipe manner” with the truck and its trailers overturning and the Nissan being heavily damaged. Neither driver suffered serious injuries.

Segura was treated for minor injuries at Desert Regional Medical Center before being booked into Riverside County Jail in Indio.
