For those looking to get a haircut, as of Tuesday, you can do that again in Riverside County.
Gov. Gavin Newsom made the announcement that some counties in the state can allow hair salons and barbershops to reopen immediately, with “serious modifications in place”:

That includes Riverside County:
I know my cosmetologist friends will be thrilled! The County of Riverside qualifies and will allow them to reopen … nail salons still not allowed.

As far as how this is all going to work, exactly, well, no one seems to know. A spokeswoman for the county told the Desert Sun, “we’re looking for guidance on operations from the state now.” Here is a link to the state’s guidance on hair salons and barbershops.
Of course, there is a pretty bad virus that is out there, so you’ll want to be safe when heading out for a haircut. There’s a list here of some practices you might want to follow (and make sure your stylist does too) to make sure you’re safe – because, while it’s nice that things are reopening, I don’t think any of us can handle another lockdown due to a second wave.
Also, your stylist / barber is likely going to have to do a lot more work than usual to get and stay open, so tip them big and let them know they are appreciated.
