A Yucca Valley man has been arrested after police say he tried to kill a toddler.
The Loma Linda University Medical Center contacted the Sheriff’s Department on Sunday regarding a one-year-old male that had been airlifted to LLUMC the day before from the Hi-Desert Medical Center in Joshua Tree. Hospital staff believed the child’s injuries were suspicious and called police who began an investigation, according to a news release.
The child remains at LLUMC and is in serious condition and on life support.
Detectives working in collaboration with Forensic Pediatricians from LLUMC claim the child’s mother’s boyfriend, Arthur Thomas Davies, was responsible for the child’s injuries. He was arrested on Sunday ons suspicion of attempted murder. His bail was set at a million dollars.
Davies is not the biological father.
