Not everyone is happy with couple’s Zombie Nativity display

A Cincinnati family’s  zombie-themed Nativity scene has some people a little upset this holiday season.

This is the second year in a row that Jasen and Amanda Dixon are being asked to take the display down.  It began in 2014 as a publicity stunt for his haunted house and it was a hit with some locals, so he brought it back again this year.  He applied for the proper permits and was denied by the city – but, he has kept it up anyway despite facing a potential $500 per day fine.

The display features Mary, Joseph, the wise men, and a baby Jesus – all zombified – and is accompanied by creepy music…you know, because Christmas?

Supporters of  Dixon say that, technically, Jesus rose from the dead — but religious groups do not see it that way – with one even placing a pamphlet at the foot of Baby Zombie Jesus saying ,“God frowns upon this manger scene.  Jesus has supreme power over death and evil; he is not a zombie.”

The couple posts on their Facebook page that they “are not Atheist” and say they believe it to be “a wonderful piece of artwork”.  They are also looking for donations to pay for fines and to upgrade the artwork for next year.

What do you think? Is it a cool piece of art or is it inappropriate?  Leave a comment below or on Facebook
