Disneyland has finally come out and stated what we all know: selfie sticks have no business inside their theme parks.

Earlier this year, the company banned selfie sticks on select rides – but now, just days after a ride had to be stopped because some asshole whipped his selfie stick out, Disney has officially added the selfie stick to the list of items not permitted inside its U.S. theme parks.

The new policy goes into effect on June 30th at Disneyland and Disneyworld.

The new policy goes into effect on June 30 at both Walt Disney World in Florida and Disneyland Resort in So Cal.

“We strive to provide the great experience for the entire family and unfortunately selfie sticks have become a growing safety concern for both our guests and our cast,” Disney World spokeswoman Kim Prunty said in a statement.

Guests will be screened for selfie sticks at the entrance to the park.  Anyone with one can either leave it with guest relations for pickup later or will have to take it back to their hotel or car.
