Lawsuit: You Are Entitled to Up to $50 if You Drank This Beer in the Last 4 Years

Becks Beer

If you have thrown down a bottle of Beck’s Beer anytime in the last 4 years, you are do some money due to a court settlement. But there is a catch.

The lawsuit, which is kind of hilarious, was filed by a guy who felt fooled by Anheuser-Busch’s packaging of the brew. Via St. Louis Business Journal:

The lawsuit, filed in 2013 in federal court in Florida, said Beck’s packaging carried phrases such as “Originated in Germany” and “Germany Quality,” so that it could be sold at a higher price than other domestic beers.

As part of the settlement, A-B will make more visible labeling that says Beck’s is made in the U.S., according to the Wall Street Journal. The green boxes in which Beck’s bottles are packaged will now also say the beer is made in the U.S.

Beck’s, which previously was made in Germany for more than 225 years, is now brewed with water from Missouri, according to the lawsuit.

Now as far as you getting paid, well good luck with that.  In order to get any cash you have to a a receipt showing a Beck’s beer purchase (yeah, because you would keep something like that).  If for some reason you did, you can get 50 cents per six-pack, up to a maximum of $50 per household.

You can file without a receipt and get up to $12 on a website that has not yet been created.
