O’Caines Irish Pub in Rancho Mirage has opened to the public just in time for St. Patrick’s Day.
The bar / restaurant was announced back in the summer of 2017 and after over a year and half of planning and construction, it’s now serving beer, whiskey, Irish Food, and more.
The pub can be found at the Rancho Mirage Marketplace (Gelson’s center at Bob Hope and Gerald Ford). I stopped in on their second day, March 16 and, yeah it was slammed.
The place is pretty nice, with a decent food menu and a solid cocktail menu that uses some top shelf offerings their drinks like Jameson Black Barrel and Bushmill’s Black.
I had the Dubliner Manhattan and it was pretty rad*

There are plenty of Irish beers on tap – like Guinness, Smith’s, and Murphy’s Stout. You can also order from their decent selection of wines and O’Caines has plenty of whiskey and other spirits available.
The staff is nice, but they were a bit overwhelmed – but, being open only two days and having a Jon Taffer-like stress test with it also being St. Paddy’s weekend will do that. It will be nice to see how things go once everyone settles in and the place calms down a little bit.
O’Caines Irish Pub has a decent sized bar area along with a big space for the restaurant. They also have a couple of dart machines and the shopping center is not short on available parking.

Menu items include Sausage Rolls; House Corned Beef, Bacon and Cabbage; Fish N Chips 3 Ways, and authentic British Bangers.
