7-eleven_shopfront

7-Eleven, best known for Slurpees, rotating hot dogs, and Doritos Loaded (at 2am) is now selling quinoa and kale at stores throughout SoCal.

The chain of mini-marts is testing a line of healthy sandwiches, salads, wraps and cold-pressed juice – all created by Tony Horton aka The P90X guy.

Tony Horton Kitchen (THK) brand meals include a spicy quinoa salad with chimichurri dressing and a stacked roasted turkey breast sandwich on a whole grain flat bun. The items are available at 104 locations around SoCal (if you see them in the 760, let us know)

If you are just looking for a beverage, you can grab a cold-pressed juice with kale, celery, apple, wheat grass, cucumber, spinach, romaine, clover sprouts, lemon and lime for $4.99.

“These salads, sandwiches, wraps and juices are for customers who are looking for healthier options on the go,” Horton said in a statement. “I truly believe that this joint venture between THK and 7-Eleven can be a tipping point to improve America’s health.”

The healthy options on the menu contain an average of 360 calories.
