Wednesday, ‘The Desert Sun’ posted an article having to do with Coachella, dudes, and basketball jerseys. Everyone on the planet hated it.
While hatred of internet articles is not uncommon (see every article ever written on this crappy website), this particular post was especially loathed.
The column, entitled “Guys wearing NBA jerseys to Coachella need creativity” featured lines such as:
I mean, I get it. I’m a guy. It’s the easiest thing. I don’t really care much about fashion. You’re not alone. It seems like about 39 percent of all men at Coachella are wearing a basketball jersey.
And…
Personally, I’m not a jersey guy, because I don’t have the guns to pull it off. I try to hide my arms and upper-body whenever possible.
Reactions began to flood in once the column was posted to Facebook:
Are you this bro?

I feel like I just read an article from the PDHS Spear (High School Newspaper).
What about this news: people like basketball and aren’t trying to look like your douchebag boyfriend.
Worst F’N article in the history of the Desert Sun!
How about you let people enjoy the festival without fear of judgment based on their clothes?
Where is the article about the guy wearing the rape shirt? But basketball fans are tacky?
This article withered whats left of my self esteem.. i hope some one who has it worse than me, doesn’t harm them selves over your fashion shaming . Way to go BRO
The writer of this article really needs to get laid.
*There were also several “what makes this news?” sort of comments, but I am not counting those since there is always someone who posts that comment no matter what the subject. Yay for the internet.
But hey, any engagement is good engagement, amirite? Looking forward to a follow up featuring fanny packs being worn at Stagecoach in a couple of weeks.
