Elected officials pretty much have only two things they have to do: raise a shit ton of money to win elections and occasionally cast a vote. One California Assemblyman was unable to accomplish the latter this week and for the simple reason that he was Facebooking.
Assemblyman Scott Wilk, a Republican from Santa Clarita, cast his vote in favor of a revised budget plan – which was a surprise, seeing as how no other Republican supported it.
Well, oops. Turns out he just wasn’t paying attention because he was on Facebook.
My wife is right – I can't multitask! Accidentally voted for Budget while Facebooking against AB 93. The perils of social media #CABudget

Wilk changed his vote when he realized the screw up, but the budget passed anyway – something Wilk probably learned from a Facebook post.
