Most days, it is easy to mistake the 91 freeway for a parking lot – and things are going to be even worse this weekend as officials are shutting down a portion of the freeway for construction work.
The closure, between Interstate 15 and State Route 71, will begin Friday at 9 p.m. and end Monday at 4 a.m. Officials are warning motorists to avoid the 91, 71, and I-15 near Corona -with officials warning of possible delays of up to 4 HOURS!!!!
That section of ht 91 sees about 280,000 vehicles pass through it every day as The LA Times notes.
Officials suggest using the 10 or the 60 instead or just leave your car behind and take the Metrolink which will double the number of trains on its 91 Line and Inland Empire/Orange County Line. On Saturday and Sunday, riders will be able to buy one ticket and get one free.
