Vista Chino was shut down for several hours on Sunday as police investigated a suspicious package that turned out to be “food products” inside a cooler.
The package was discovered at about 10:20 a.m. on the south side of Vista Chino, between Farrell and Whitewater Club drives near the Palm Springs International Airport, reports the Desert Sun.
All lanes on the street were closed just after 11 a..m. as the Riverside County Hazardous Device Team was called in to investigate.
It was determined the package was a “wrapped and sealed cooler” and the road was reopened at 1:30 p.m.
