Chicas Gentlemen’s Club appears to be coming to Coachella.
The building, on Dillon Road, was home to Seventh Heaven Gentlemen’s Club and Lynx Gentlemen’s Club from 2005 until closing in 2014, despite having a surprising 4.5 stars on Yelp.
The city had originally denied the special permit for Chicas because they felt it was too close to a housing development that has been planned, but not built, for the last 10 years, according to the Desert Sun. Recently, the city reversed their decision and allowed the operator’s of Chicas the permit.
“Sexually oriented businesses have a First Amendment protected constitutional right for us to provide an adequate zone for them to operate within the city and that was part of the analysis that went into our determination,” City Attorney Carlos Campos said in a recent council meeting.
No word yet on the club’s opening date.
