The incident happened near Bubbling Wells Elementary School. The Desert Sun notes that classes at the school appear to be happening as normal Tuesday morning.
The shooting comes a little more than a week following a fatal officer-involved shooting on the campus of Eisenhower Health center in Rancho Mirage after a man fired several rounds into the hospital.
