Palm Springs Police closed down a portion of Gene Autry Trail Monday morning for an investigation after a fatal traffic collision involving a vehicle and a motorcycle.
Gene Autry was closed between Mesquite Ave and Seven Lakes Drive in both directions, as of 9 am, according to the PSPD (Update: the road has since been reopened):

The Desert Sun reports that the motorcyclist died in the crash, which happened about 8:30.

There were no further details released about the collision.
