10 animals dead in Palm Springs mobile home fire

Ten pets were killed and two residents displaced after a fire broke out at a mobile home in Palm Springs on Saturday.

Crews were called to Pioneer Trail in the Windy Point area about 10:47 pm, according to the Palm Springs Firefighters Association.

The homeowners were able to escape the blaze along with some of their animals – but six cats, two dogs, and two birds died in the fire, according to KESQ.

Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire, but it was a challenge as the mobile home park does not have hydrants located within it.
