1,200 marijuana plants seized, 2 arrested in North Palm Springs

Two men were arrested in North Palm Springs on drug charges on Thursday and about 1,200 marijuana plants were seized.

Officials say the illegal marijuana grow was spotted by a California Highway Patrol plane flying over the area, located on 16th and Indian, according to the Desert Sun.

Ronald David Barrett, 54, and Jose Manuel Mercado Beltran, 43, were arrested on suspicion of illegal marijuana cultivation.

The Riverside County District Attorney’s office said that both men lived on the property.
