The airplane crashed during an “aborted takeoff” and was about 200 feet in the air when it lost power. The plane landed and skidded off runway.
The plane, a 1940s-era Stearman, crashed at about 1 p.m. and forced all runways to shut down, reports The Desert Sun. Airport officials used a flatbed truck to remove the biplane from the runway at about 2 p.m.
