A body was discovered on a Palm Springs hiking trail Sunday morning.
Authorities were called to the Goat Trail about 7:30 am. The body was removed by the Palm Springs Mounted Police Search and Rescue team, reports The Desert Sun.
The Goat Trail begins near Gene Autry Trail and Highway 111, behind Vons.
Update: the man has been identified as Steven West, 55 of Palm Springs. The Desert Sun reports West had been missing for 7 days.
