Wilma and Frieda’s Cafe
This El Paseo spot is so good, Guy Fieri chose it to be part of Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives. You won’t find much happening on El Paseo before noon most days, but this place, located on the second story of The Gardens, usually has a nice crowd enjoying things like meatloaf and eggs, a short rib scramble with mozzarella, and a 6 oz. steak and eggs.
Wilma and Frieda’s, 73575 El Paseo (The Gardens), Palm Desert, (760) 773-2807
El Paseo Grill
This spot may be a bit tough to find as it is located in a strip mall mostly hidden from Highway 111, but when you do find it (hint: it’s near the Starbucks at Highway 74 and 111), you will be treated to not only some of the best breakfast in Palm Desert, but some of the best in the entire Coachella Valley. It’s a small place with a limited staff, so expect to walk up and order and to grab your own coffee – but that’s fine, because the folks in the kitchen are busy cooking up breakfast burritos, eggs and bacon, a Belgian waffle, and more.
El Paseo Grill, 73030 El Paseo Drive, Ste 103, Palm Desert, (760) 346-7900

Si Bon
Okay, so we are technically breaking the rules on this one as Si Bon is in Rancho Mirage, but only by like 20 feet, so it’s on the list because we say so! Plus, it’s really good – with homemade crèpes, waffles, pancakes, a Lobster and Asparagus Omelet, and more.
Si Bon, 40101 Monterey Ave Ste E5, Rancho Mirage, (760) 837-0011
Louise’s Pantry
Back in 2015, Louise’s Pantry in La Quinta expanded with a second location in Palm Desert. This spot is known for their traditional breakfast offerings like chicken fried steak and eggs, omelettes, bagels and lox, scrambles, and more.
Louise’s Pantry, 73155 Highway 111, Palm Desert (760) 837-3900
Swiss Donuts
Hey look, you’re not always looking for a full plate of bacon and eggs in the morning. Sometimes, you just wand to grab a donut and a coffee for yourself or a dozen to share with coworkers and friends. For those times you do, Swiss Donuts is there for you.
Swiss Donuts, 34300 Monterey Ave #102, Palm Desert, (760) 770-7011 / 40205 Washington St # 5, Palm Desert, (760) 360-1112 / 72785 Highway 111, Palm Desert, (760) 346-7555
Cup’s Cafe
This North Palm Desert spot opened up in April, 2018 and immediately began getting raves for not only its food, but also its service and decor. On the menu, you will find things like omelettes, Benedicts, pancakes, and Divorced Eggs – two eggs over a tostada with beans, green tomatillo sauce, and red house sauce.
Cups Cafe, 77912 Country Club Drive, (760) 200-0333
El Rodeo Cafe
This spot on San Pablo has plenty of delicious breakfast menu items from omelettes to breakfast burritos to chilaquiles to pancakes – and all of it at pretty great prices. The Chile Colorado Omelette, Huevos Con Jamon, and Chorizo Breakfast Burrito are some of our favorites.
El Rodeo Cafe, 44820 San Pablo Ave, Palm Desert, (760) 346-5046
Sherman’s Deli and Bakery
In addition to their huge menu of sandwiches, Sherman’s also offers up a big selection of breakfast menu items including omelettes, lox and cream cheese, and even salami and eggs. Plus, you can always get a sandwich in the morning – since Guy Fieri made them look so good when he made a stop into the place for Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives.
Sherman’s Deli and Bakery, 73161 Country Club Drive, Palm Desert, (760) 568-1350
The Lunch Box
Undoubtedly, the hardest of all ten of these restaurants to find – as it’s hidden amongst dozens of auto body shops and smog joints in an industrial area off of Cook Street. But hey, these days, just plug the address into your GPS and let Siri guide you to The Lunch Box for some great, quick breakfast in Palm Desert. The Lunch Box serves up “scrams” starting at 7 am: 2 scrambled eggs, jack cheese, and ham, turkey, or bacon served between two slices of bread, in a tortilla, or in a bowl – and for just five bucks!
The Lunch Box, 74868 Joni Drive, Palm Desert, (760) 610-1136
Keedy’s Fountain Grill
A longtime favorite of Palm Desert locals, Keedy’s Fountain Grill has a big menu full of omelettes, hot cakes, biscuits and gravy, and more – plus they always have a few daily specials and a super nice staff.
Keedy’s Fountain Grill, 73633 Highway 111, Palm Desert, (760) 346-6492
