A Flex Alert has been issued for the first time in two years for The State of California. The alert calls for you to ease back on your electrical use just a bit today – so as to keep us from having a blackout or two.

The alert calls for you to conserve just a bit of energy by setting thermostats to 78 degrees or higher, turning off any of your unnecessary lights and appliances, and, if you have to use a major appliance – wait until tonight to do it.

Does not seem like they are asking for a whole lot. And no issue has been issued for tomorrow when you can go back to whatever it is you were doing with electricity before.
