A large dog was is expected to survive after being shot by a Riverside County Sheriff’s Department deputy on Wednesday.
The dog charged at the deputy during a parolee check on San Rafael Drive, according to the Desert Sun. The dog was struck once in the incident.
The dog was taken to an animal hospital for treatment.
No other details were released.
