The Coachella Music and Arts Festival is less than a month away and while many look forward to an amazing weekend of music, celebrity watching, and parties – let us not forget about the fact that Coachella is home to some killer noms.
[adsanity id=11529 align=alignright /]This year, organizers have added 4 pop up restaurants for festival goers to chow down at. Each will be a sit-down, full service restaurant. Each also requires a reservation, which can be done through Reserve. And all 4 pop ups are in the VIP area and available only to those with a VIP wristband. All restaurants will offer a $50 pre-fixed menu consisting of 4-6 course with your booze not included.
Here are the four pop ups and their descriptions:
SCRATCH|BAR
Chef: Phillip Frankland Lee | Location: Los Angeles
Situated on LA’s infamous restaurant row, focuses on honest, creative and accessible high-end cuisine. SCRATCH|BAR represents a bastion for both foodies and the food curious alike. Come enjoy truly innovative culinary craftsmanship in a relaxed and intimate environment. Serving only what is made in house from scratch, the restaurant offers everything from a la carte dining to a complete set of unique tasting menus – highlighted by a 14-course chef’s counter tasting experience, where chef Phillip Frankland Lee prepares and presents all 14 courses table side. The bar program hosts an equally unique rendering of beverages paired specifically to the SCRATCH|BAR menu.
The Gadarene Swine
Chef: Phillip Frankland Lee | Location: Los Angeles
The Gadarene Swine, which opened 2014 in Studio City, is Chef Phillip Frankland Lee’s second restaurant in Los Angeles. The concept for The Gadarene Swine is similar to Chef Phillip’s approach with SCRATCH|BAR. An intimate but casual experience to sample innovate, and simple yet playful cuisine. Using a hyper modern approach, Chef concentrates on the most vital food group, vegetables, resulting in a menu that is 99.9% vegan. Utilizing simple ingredients with an elevated approach, The Gadarene Swine offers a tasting menu with items like eggplant and carrot served in unexpected, yet tasty ways. A la carte dining is available as well.
Terrine
Chef: Kris Morningstar | Location: Los Angeles
Terrine is a lively California brasserie by Chef Kris Morningstar. We serve rustic food inspired by the french classics, cooked with california flair. The wine program revolves mainly around french wines, with a few chosen locals to round up the list. The spirited cocktail program, created by Ryan Wainwright, insists on the classics. Terrine is warm, romantic and convivial. We are happy to share with you one of the most iconic dining gardens in all of Los Angeles.
POT
Chef: Roy Choi | Location: Los Angeles
Located in the Line Hotel in Los Angeles, Roy Choi’s OIT is Koreatown and Korean food through the eyes of an American with Korean blood. Hot pots, frenetic energy, bbq. It’s the late nights on the streets, it’s a joyous celebration of life. Most of all, it’s good times and good food in the hood.
