As we are now only a week out from the sold out 2018 Coachella Music and Arts Festival, let’s check in on how the price of tickets is doing on the resell market.
While all ticket prices on StubHub have been mostly trending down since we started keeping an eye on them on January 6, Weekend One has seen prices shoot up over the last few weeks – while Weekend Two prices have gone way down, with VIP passes selling for nearly $250 under face value.
Below are the lowest listing price on StubHub on January 6 / February 6 / February 26 / and today (April 5):
- Weekend One General Admission: $645 / $599 / $549.49 / $680
- Weekend One VIP: $1,150 / $1,299 / $1,169 / $1,356
- Weekend Two General Admission: $514 / $485 / $449.50 / $375
- Weekend Two VIP: $1,014 / $956 /$960 / $750
The tickets originally sold for a face value of $429 for General Admission and $999 for VIP passes – so Weekend Two passes can be had for below face value, which will leave you some extra cash to buy some pregame drinks before the fest.
And while this isn’t the most scientific way to track overall prices, it does give a general view of supply and demand – with Weekend One always a hotter ticket than Weekend Two, even though I actually prefer Weekend Two – but that’s a post for another day.
Coachella Weekend Two is scheduled to be headlined by Beyonce, The Weeknd, and Eminem at the Empire Polo Club in Indio over two weekends, April 13 – 15 & April 20 -22.
For Coachella Valley locals, a sale for those with a Greater Palm Springs Area zip code is being done online by Goldenvoice this year. Buying tickets to Weekend One is not available anymore, but Weekend Two tickets are.
