Is The Desert getting a new radio station called “The Blend”?
Thanks to a news tip (thanks and keep them coming!), Cactus Hugs was led to a Facebook page for a radio station which claims not only to be coming soon to The Coachella Valley – but is also hiring a number of positions…
“Experience” is required for anyone looking to be an “On-Air Radio Personality”, but not for anyone looking to be a manager (which explains a hell of a lot about the current state of the radio industry). The positions were also listed on Craigslist, which would not normally be the go-to spot for radio industry positions.
When asked on Facebook which frequency the radio station would be broadcasting on , “The Blend” responded “It will be FM, we don’t have the call letters yet, waiting on FCC. We will start as internet and move to radio asap.”
If, and when, “The Blend” does begin operating, it will have “music for the mind, body and soul”. Great. Though we would have settled for “music for your ears”.
